There's a not-to-be-missed show coming up in Asheville, North Carolina, at Citizen Vinyl. Wes Tirey and Hayden Pedigo will be playing sets starting at 8 pm on Nov. 17. Doors open at 7 pm. You can order tickets via Dice. This will be an amazing evening of music and a great time to connect with the Asheville community.
Citizen Vinyl also has copies of Wes Tirey's new record, Wes Tirey Sings Selected Works of Billy the Kid, or you could probably pick up a copy directly from Wes at the show. You may have heard also that, for the rest of 2024, all proceeds from Sun Cru sales of Wes Tirey Sings Selected of Billy will be donated to Hurricane Helene relief, specifically to BeLoved Asheville and the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund.

As put by our friend Jim Bassett, aka Sermon Popgun, "The unsparing verse is so evocative when paired with the unadorned, stark spare guitar work. ...the kind of incantatory foreboding with which it begins, a life legacy reduced to a body count recited so matter of factly without sentiment, only for that impression to be filled in and complicated with each subsequent work. The quaver/vibrato in [Wes's] voice imbues the whole thing with a dreadful sense of apprehension that all this violence was somehow preordained. And yet, there are really lovely lyrical moments interspersed amidst the grim visions of death like a kind of wasted grace."
